Rockland Trust Named Official Bank

Falmouth, Mass. -- The CIGNA Falmouth Road Race has signed an agreement with Rockland Trust to become a platinum sponsor and the official bank of this year's race.
       Brian Griffin, regional manager of Rockland Trust, said "We are delighted about the opportunity to partner with the Falmouth Road Race and become a part of the race's rich history. Every year this popular event is supported by thousands of volunteers and runners from all over the world. As a regional bank with deep roots on Cape Cod and the South Shore, Rockland Trust is looking forward to developing a strong relationship with the Falmouth Road Race, which also has long-lasting ties to the Cape Cod community."
       Race co-director Rich Sherman added "Rockland Trust features top-of-the-line banking with a local touch, not unlike our race. We are looking forward to working with them."
       Rockland Trust, founded in 1907, is a full-service community bank serving Eastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod.        The Falmouth Road Race was established in 1973 and annually attracts a world-class field of elite competitors, plus thousands of recreational runners from across the country and the world. It was named "Best USA Road Race" by Runner's World magazine and "Best of New England" by Boston Magazine.
       This year's race will be held on Sunday, Aug. 9. Entries closed on May 15 with the largest number of applicants in race history. A lottery will be held later this month to select the field of 10,000 runners.
