Started in 1995, The New Balance Falmouth Mile is a companion event to the New Balance Falmouth Road Race. Taking place at the Falmouth High School James Kalperis track, behind the Expo fieldhouse, the Mile is actually two events – one for invited world-class milers and the other for Massachusetts high school athletes.
Rather than sit watching Olympic-class runners on TV you can instead line the track, up close and personal, to see these speedsters do their work. Then stay for the High School Mile to see our up and comers!
The High School Mile was added in 2010. The first High School Mile featured only athletes from schools on Cape Cod. New Balance outfitted each athlete with New Balance shoes,shirts and shorts. In 2011 it was changed to invite athletes from across the state. On Saturday evening, August 13th, be sure to be at Falmouth High School's track to see just how fast Massachusetts is!
