What is included in the registration fee?
The registration fee for the 2013 New Balance Falmouth Road Race includes: entry to the race, an official race mug, an official race magazine, entry to the Health and Fitness Expo including athlete signings and free clinics, water and Gatorade on the race course, and a post race party at the finish line.
How do I know if I'm registered?
Once your registration has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email that will serve as your only confirmation of registration.
Is there a minimum age to register for the race?
You must be at least 7 years old by race day to participate in the New Balance Falmouth Road Race held on Sunday, August 11. The Falmouth Walk held on Saturday, August 10, allows entrants of all ages.
Do I need to submit proof of time?
No, submitting a proof of time is only for start corral placement, which is based on your anticipated finish time. If you do not submit a proof of time, you will be randomly placed in one of the last 4 corrals.
What if I have a better proof of time than when I first registered?
Email proof before July 20. After July 20, all numbers are assigned and we cannot change your corral.
Can my race registration be refunded?
No. We are sorry, but the registration fee for the race is non-refundable.
Is there a waiting list for numbers?
No.
If I can’t run, can I give my number to a friend?
No, and if you do, you will not be allowed to run the following year.
How can I run for a charity?
You can go to the Numbers-for-Non-Profit page and contact the charity you prefer.
Where do I pick up my race packet?
You must pick up your race packet at the New Balance Road Race Expo held in the Falmouth High School Field House.
If I can't attend the race, can my race packet be mailed to me?
Unfortunately, we are unable to mail race packets, goody bags, mugs, magazines, or posters.
Is Number / Packet Pick-Up available the day of the race?
No, all race packets must be picked up at the Expo and will not be available the day of the race.
Do I need to bring anything with me to Packet Pick-Up?
To pick up your race packet, you must bring a Photo ID and your signed Number Pick-Up Form. If the participant is under 18 years old, the Number Pick-Up Form must be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Yes, the individual picking up on your behalf must provide a Number Pick-Up Form signed by you. You need to specifically indicate on that form the name of the person you are authorizing to pick up your number.
When will the number pick-up form be available?
It will be emailed to the runners the week of July 25th and will be available on our website at that time.
What are the different corral colors for the start?
TBD for 2013
Is there a pacing requirement for the race?
We suggest that you train for a 15 minute per mile pace to allow time for restroom breaks, walking stretches, photo opportunities, etc.
What happens if I can't keep up with the pacing requirement?
All race support stops at 12 PM, which includes all water stations and the finish area. If you choose to continue running after this time you will share the roads with traffic.
Can I use my iPod, MP3 player or headphones?
With 10,000 runners and a narrow winding course, we recommend you leave your audio training aids behind. You'll be better able to hear runners approaching to pass as well as hear safety announcements or emergency vehicles on the course.
Will bag check be available for this race?
No.
If my friend or family member is assigned to a different corral, can we change corrals?
Corral placement is based on each individual’s anticipated finish time. The person placed in the faster corral is allowed to move back to a slower corral, but no one is allowed to move forward.
How many water and food stops will be located on the course?
A total of five (5) Poland Springs water stops and one Gatorade Rehydration Station will be located along the course.
Which timing splits will be provided?
Clocks are located at each mile marker. Final race completion time for all corrals except the FIRST will be chip time. The FIRST Corral will be hand timed.
Where can I find my race results?
You will be able to view your results online the evening of the race.
How do I find my race photos after the race?
Please visit Marathon Foto to view your race photos. You will need your race number to access your photos. Please allow 48 hours after the race for photos to be loaded.
Is there an awards ceremony?
Yes, top finisher awards will be presented at the Awards Ceremony at 12 Noon on the ball field near the finish.
Is the Finish Line Ball Field Party included in the registration?
Yes, race participants receive entry into the Finish Line Ball Field Party with registration. The Finish Line Party is not included with Falmouth Mile or Falmouth Walk registrations.
Can I purchase additional vouchers for the food and beverage stations at the party?
No. The refreshments are for runners only. Please refrain from taking more than you need or taking extra for family members. They are welcome to bring their own refreshments or purchase snacks from the vendors in the area.
Is event transportation provided?
New Balance Falmouth Road Race bus transportation has been arranged for race participants to get to Woods Hole. Please visit the Runner Race Day page for more details. Parking is extremely limited at Woods Hole and will be restricted. Course and finish line parking, although tight, is available within a short walk.
How do I get to the race start?
New Balance Falmouth Road Race provides buses to Woods Hole from Lawrence School, 113 Lakeview Ave.
Is transportation available for spectators?
There is a periodic Woods Hole / Falmouth shuttle called Whoosh! Schedules are available at the Falmouth Chamber of Commerce - 20 Academy Lane, Falmouth and at many other locations on route. Call 800-352-7155
Where are spectators allowed to watch?
Best viewing (and parking) is available along Surf Drive near the four-mile mark. Appreciate however that your ability to move your family and car from one-mile mark to another downstream is limited by the tight roads and crowded conditions race day. Crowds build in downtown Falmouth from the five-mile mark through the finish at Falmouth Heights – where a beach awaits!
Where should I plan to meet up with my runner after the race?
The Ball Field Finish Line Party will have lettered signs – meet your runner under the sign for their last name or work out a prearranged location on the beach. The Ball Field can get very crowded with runners and friends.
